Ceramic coating for cars starts at $1,299 and runs to $4,249 depending on the size of your car, the condition of the paint and how much of the vehicle you want covered.

There are three levels: Silver lasts three years, Gold five, Platinum seven. Every package includes the paint preparation.

Most cars are with us for two to three days, including a 24-hour cure before you drive away. We are at Ohoka and we come to you anywhere in Canterbury.

The Preparation Is The Job
A ceramic coating bonds to whatever is on the surface when it goes on. Put one over contamination and fine scratches and you have sealed them in for the next three, five or seven years. The car will look glossy, but stand it in the sun and everything that was there before is still there, now under glass.
New vehicle preparation. For cars straight from the dealer. A full decontamination and a light polish to take out the minor factory and transit defects. Yes, even on a brand new car. Especially on a brand new car.

New vehicle preparation

Enhancement
A single stage machine polish for a used car in good order. Takes out light swirls and brings the gloss back.
Restoration
A multi stage cut and polish for paint that has had a harder life. The biggest visible difference.
Ask any shop quoting you for a coating what preparation is included. It is a fair question and the answer tells you most of what you need to know.
What A Ceramic Coating Actually Does
It makes the car far easier to keep clean. Dirt and road grime struggle to grip it, water beads and runs off, and bird mess and bugs are much less likely to etch the paint if you get to them in reasonable time. It protects against the Canterbury sun, and it holds gloss for years rather than months.

What it does not do. It will not stop a stone chip. It will not stop a scratch from a trolley or a jacket zip. It does not mean you never wash the car again. And it will not hide swirls that were already there, which is the whole reason we prepare the paint first.

There is no such thing as a lifetime coating, whatever the warranty document says. Ours are rated at three, five and seven years, and how they are looked after decides where in that range they land.
How It Works

Get in touch. Use the pricing tool above and send us what you have picked, or call us. We will confirm availability and talk through anything you are unsure about.

Drop off or we come to you. We are at Ohoka, and we work mobile anywhere in Canterbury.

We prepare the paint. Decontamination first, then the right level of correction for your car.

We apply the coating. Three hours of application whatever the level, then the extras you have chosen.

It cures. Twenty four hours, once, at the end. Most cars are with us two to three days all up.

You get it back, and we tell you how to look after it. There is a full guide on our blog and we are one phone call away if anything comes up.
Keeping It Right
A coating makes maintenance easier, not unnecessary. Hand wash it, use ceramic safe products, and keep it out of automatic car washes, because those brushes will take years off a coating faster than anything else.

Your Fireball coating should be professionally checked every twelve months so we can top the bond up. If you would rather we handled the upkeep entirely, we can do that too.
